Hi, my name is Dan Rousell and I am the Head of Care at Linden Bridge School. I started in January 2016 after previously working as Deputy Head of Care at Kisimul school which catered for young people with Severe learning disabilities.
My main working background came working at Unsted Park school where I worked for over 6 years in a range of positions from support worker to the equivalent of Deputy Head of Care. Unsted Park school caters for young people with Aspergers, ADHD and Autism. I have also encountered several medical conditions and worked with young people with epilepsy, Type 1 diabetes and severe allergies.
I have gained my level 5 diploma in leadership and management of young people and children in England and hold qualifications in teaching behaviour management and first aid to staff teams.
I am a lively person and enjoy spending time with the young people playing games and having fun. I like to facilitate a variety of fun activities and my view point is as long as it can be completed safely and the young people will benefit from an activity then why not.
Outside of work I am avid football fan and player and still play at a semi professional level and have the unfortunate task of supporting Newcastle united.
I feel that I am an open and honest person and would encourage parents and carers to contact me if they have any questions or queries. I want you to feel safe and comfortable with your child attending boarding at Linden Bridge school.
