SEND Teaching School is a partnership between the Teaching Schools of Linden Bridge School and West Hill School, working with an alliance of Surrey Special Schools and in collaboration with Surrey County Council, Babcock 4S, Kingston University and Roehampton University, in order to deliver SEND specific school-to-school support, training and professional development and Leadership programmes, we provide SEN input and placements for school based initial teacher training. We have National and Specialist Leaders of education who can be commissioned to conduct SEND Reviews or bespoke support with your SEND and SENCO issues in both Special and Mainstream schools.
We can offer different levels of support and development into schools or can plan a package that is bespoke to your school development needs. We host professional learning walks by appointment on a Tuesday morning, where professionals can visit to see the school in action. This is an excellent opportunity to follow up on our Autism training to see strategies in action or to focus on a particular aspect of teaching and learning or the curriculum. A fee will apply to non SEND Teaching School members or those not signed up to a support package with us.
SEND Teaching School aims to ensure that children and young people who have SEND achieve the best outcomes, enhanced by the work of the SEND Teaching School, and staff secure excellent SEND practice, skills and knowledge based on leading edge SEND practice through quality SEND support, advice and training. Our alliance of schools work across all phases and sectors of SEND, and together we are committed to improving the school system for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
SEND Teaching School is a hub of information, training and support for families, schools, community organisations and businesses who require to help to meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
