Residential update

Hoping this finds you all safe and well, looking forward to some form of normality back into our lives.

As Parent’s and Carers of existing residential students, I am writing to advise you of the plans for the re-opening of the residential department in September 2020.

Guidance from the Government for conditions and arrangements we have to meet for re-opening of the department are forever evolving, and it is expected will continue throughout the summer break. I can reassure you we have been busy making plans for every eventuality to enable us to re-open while maintaining our high standards of care in all areas. We cannot predict which model we will need to take up until we return to school. Some of our children and young people have not been on the school premises throughout the lockdown period, and we are working alongside school on their transition back.

For this reason we will contact all Parents and Carers of existing residential students between Tuesday 8th and Friday 11th September 2020 to advise you of the individual arrangements for your child/young person, aiming to offer placements again from the week beginning Monday 14th September 2020.

With this letter I am pleased to be able to enclose a residential Key Worker group list for your child/young person for the academic year 20-21.

I would also like to inform you that to support leadership within the department, Caroline Stimpson has been successful at interview, and has now taken up the position of Deputy Residential Manager/Deputy Head of Care, I know you will all join me in welcoming her to her new role.

Any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
